Last night, if by chance you live in a fairly dark place and you looked up in the sky around midnight onward, perhaps you saw some shooting stars. Jon, Judy and I went to McDonald Park in Abbotsford last night to witness Perseids Meteor Shower. It was absolutely amazing. McDonald Park is a Dark Sky Park. This means that the area is preserved to be free of artificial lighting so that astronomers and stargazers alike can enjoy the untainted night sky. Light pollution is a serious issue but it can be easily fixed, to find out more, check out IDA. On a less political note, here are some pictures I took of the night sky. I seriously need a shutter release cable because I was stuck with only 60 seconds of open shutter to capture the stars which meant that I couldn’t get any movement. Nonetheless, the experience was unforgettable. Enjoy!
